My review for this visit has not changed much; I probably raised my overall rating by half a star or so. I had dinner there last Saturday night with my adult son and adult nephew. We had a good time. We had a lot of food at a very reasonable price, and that is all you can ask for. My son and nephew had pot stickers and chicken lettuce wraps for their appetizers -- we would rate these dishes at 3.5 stairs.....not bad, but not outstanding. My nephew had as his entrée the beef chow fun and that is always good. Similarly my son ordered the chow mein noodles Hong Kong style and that was also very good. Being that it was Chinese New Year's, I ordered the special menu for the occasion. It started with my appetizer of teriyaki chicken wings -- four small drummettes. This was OK for an appetizer. My side dish was deep fried, tempura style, green beans -- that was good and it was a huge serving! I was surprised. My entrée was called "braised pork belly and Chinese sausage (lup chong) on a bed of sticky rice, served in a clay pot". Although this description was pretty accurate, a more accurate and traditional name for this Chinese dish is "Lo Mai Kai". While this label would probably not be known by most visitors to this establishment, it would have been a better description for me. Overall I would rate this dish at 3.5 stars too. It had lup chong in it. But no pork belly as far as I could tell; but there were small slices of pork in it. The glutinous rice was cooked nicely; slightly charred by the hot pot, but it need a little bit more flavor; maybe some oyster sauce or more soy and sesame oil?? And they forgot to add the garnishes of green onion and cilantro. The missing garnishes would have made the taste so much better. For the included dessert, it was a pear tartlet -- custard in a pastry crust with glazed slices of pear on top -- that was very good!!
