Your host Roberto Ercolani comes to Sarasota from Rome, Italy, bringing the best and most delicious authentic Italian dishes to this area. He has been in the restaurant business since his youth. As co-owner of CasAntica, Roberto provides a refined and unique Italian culinary boutique atmosphere.
The restaurant occupies a 1926 historic home nestled among the trees on the edge of downtown Sarasota. Patrons may choose indoor or outdoor dining (weather permitting), always the perfect setting... exclusive, romantic and intimate.

We arrived on time at 7 PM but had to wait 20 minutes to be seated and there was a long line ahead of us at the door who are waiting as well. Once we got seated, we waited way too long for a waiter to come. It appears that you are very short-staffed. I recommended this restaurant to my guests and I was embarrassed. The food was just OK; my colleague ordered a fish dish and it was so full of pepper, she couldn’t eat it. I ordered the tortellini with seafood and it was almost all tortellini and very little Seafood . My past experience with CasAntica was excellent, so I was very disappointed in this visit last night. The food is over the top. It is definitely made when you order and not prepared ahead of time. The wine selection is great. I would definitely recommend this establishment

The food was very good, more options on menu for meat courses. Bread should be no charge with dinner-5 small slices for 3 people is not enough when having sauce dishes. We will definitely go back though Loved the ambiance, great wine list!

We had an excellent dinner. Wonderful food, excellent service, nice wine lost. Extremely charming and welcoming decor. Will definitely be going back.

Excellent dinner with homemade pasta. We had an excellent Montepulciano wine with dinner. The salad was crisp and well dressed. One veal dish had an abundance of gristle which was promptly taken care of. The tiramisu was excellent.

The lamb bolognese was excellent, the service devine and on point. I was disappointed in the water servers. It had musty metallic taste. I was in drinkable. The wine a 2018 vintage Italian needed to be filtered as sediment was Stuck to the side of the bottle. I my opinion the wine was not up to its quality. Now with that said my guest were very satisfied with the wine and water. I hope restaurant staff take heed with my comments and review the handling of water ( cleaning the pitchers) filtering the water. Better care of wine inventories.

Terrible experience. Nearly three hours for dinner. They were clearly understaffed and maybe the chef quit. Was a pre fixed menu for NYE and totally not worth the price.

The waitstaff were very disorganized. Everything was very slow and we had several servers come and go. My wife had lasagna that was the smallest portion I’ve ever seen. Good was very good, it seemed they were unprepared for a New Years dinner crowd though it required a reservation

The Worst experience I ever had in New Year Eve!Do Not Recommend it!!!!! It is no atmosphere, , we had to wait for long time to get our food doesn’t matter we had reservations and the restaurant had a fixed menu for New Year, they survived bread basket with 3 size of the half dollar slice of bread, the portions are small, my husband told them that we are leaving and we are not paying for the food, the woman he talked to came out in the garden we were eating with her cellphone and started video taping us and threatening us to put us on the Facebook, she was very rude and prepare for this kind of activity, it looks like happened before! I read the previous reviews and realized we are not the only one who weren’t happy with this place!We are never going to go back to this Restaurant!!!!

My bad I guess that I didn’t know it was a pre fixed menu for NYE but when I made reservation it didn’t mention that. A lot of food for the price of $95 but some in our party of 7 never would have ordered 4 courses… I would like to try this place on a normal night. Good ambience and food was very good. Service was ok since we were up on 2nd floor servers have to go up and down stairs the entire time so at times the server was not readily available. Not a glowing recommendation but I would try again one day.
