   Catch concentrates on what matters - the food. The servers typically are very knowledgeable, but casual and approachable as opposed to stuffy and aloof. That’s consistent with the ambiance of the restaurant - it’s comfortable but not memorable. Prices are very reasonable for a restaurant with a James Beard finalist chef. Put Catch on your list - you won’t regret it.

   Was expecting much more. The fried fish platter was very bland and not up to other Wilmington seafood restaurants, not were the sides. My husband had the shrimp and grits. He said his meal was ok. Maybe other choices would have been better but we'll never know.

   After my first meal at Catch, which was outstanding, I decided to give it another try to determine whether it was a one-off or whether the staff and cooking was consistent. We arrived early as the traffic wasn't bad and they seated us immediately. The restaurant is not extravagantly decorated and the tables are not covered with white linen, but it possesses warm indirect lighting and is obviously incredibly clean. A bit unassuming as it is in a small strip mall, but please do not be turned off by this James Beard winner of a chef. We were warmly and immediately greeted by Amy who was our server the first time. She got our drink order and brought them to the table (highly recommend the smoke infused rye old fashioned). Our order was taken and the food was divine. Amy recommended the filet mignon as it was a special and not served frequently at this restaurant (as their focus is incredibly delicious seafood). My husband thought it was one of the best meals he has ever had, I had the shrimp and cheddar grits and it was winner. Please try this restaurant if you are ever in Wilmington NC...you will not be disappointed.

   Valentine dinner was perfect. Had special Cajun Mahi Mahi, side Caesar Salad, wife had also side Caesar salad and Crab Cakes. All dishes delicious and attentive service.

    Best of Wilmington! Don’t let the modest location in a strip mall put you off. Ample parking, lovely staff and the food was absolutely extraordinary! Ordered the fresh ahi tuna and crab cakes - both beautifully presented . Definitely will go back .
