Chelsea Tavern is a local popular gastropub located in downtown Wilmington, directly across from the Grand Opera House. The kitchen prepares delicious comfort food consisting of locally grown and house made ingredients, that is complemented by our dynamic craft beer selection. Chelsea’s ever-changing inventory features 33 beers on tap, hundreds of large format bottles, cans, and single serving bottles of seasonal and local brews. Chelsea is a neighborhood favorite that is perfect for a quick lunch, weekend brunch with friends, pre-show dinner, or a group gathering. They were clearly overwhelmed for the level of business going on that day. A lot went wrong. One thing after another. We were very disappointed that our experience at Chelsea Tavern almost ruined our special day

This was basically a nice experience . It was basically empty when we got there but soon became extremely busy and loud so not as relaxing as we had hoped:) Don’t like that they automatically add 20 % tip to bill and then think you should give more??? For just 2 people!! Large group yes but 2? We are usually good tippers so if they had given us the chance the waitress probably would have gotten a bigger tip but adding right away as you bring the bill … NO Thank you!! Doubt we will return even though the cinnamon rolls were amazing !!

Food was great. Service was kind but inefficient. Never bought back requested items. 20% service fee automatically added… didn’t like that. Convenient for pre-show at the grand.

Salad dressing was overpowering with vinegar. Pizza crust was good but too much pesto and very large chicks of sausage that had little flavor. Added 20% to bill (which is fine) but 2% went to house as service charge. Not cool, that’s why you raise prices not additional charges

It was our first time there for a brunch before and afternoon show across the street. Parking is still a bit of a hassle, but the food and drinks were awesome!
