iSLAS means Islands, a Filipino restaurant located in Parkdale, Toronto. The name “iSLAS” represents the 7,641 islands that make up the Philippines. Filipino cuisine is a blend of Austronesian, Malay, Chinese, Spanish, American, and indigenous influences. The flavors are a combination of sweet, sour, salty, and spicy. Vinegar is a common ingredient, and dishes like Adobo are popular. Rice is a staple and is served with various meat, fish, stew, soup, and vegetable dishes. Filipino meals are communal and informal, and traditional meals include breakfast, lunch, dinner, and meriénda (afternoon snack). I can’t say we had one issue. We loved everything we ordered. The ceasar salad was excellent too. The brisket had such a distinct flavour and was so tender. The pork belly burnt ends were saucy and apple flavoured goodness. They have an unbelievable bourbon list. We loved sitting up at the bar. Wouldn’t sit anywhere else. Cheers

Truly fantastic service from our server Iryna. She was attentive, helpful and present. It is important to note that mains are really not mains in the traditional sense. They include the protein only. If you want anything beyond a solitary piece of meat on your plate you need to order a side, which is between $8-15. So, for example, a single chicken skewer with brussel sprouts is $35. A main traditionally is a complete dish including sides but not here. The food was generally good tasting all around, however it is not cheap, charging for everything seperate adds up quickly.

Love this restaurant. The staff is very welcoming and friendly. The food is delicious. Great list of cocktails and mocktails. Best part is, during dinner, diners (and staff) can participate in karaoke right at their table. Makes for a really fun and unique experience. Different diners from opposite ends of the restaurant would partake in a duet..Had a great time! Oh, and the desserts were amazing
