Taking our next residency from Feb 2nd until 31st May, In collaboration with 'Eighteen' on Colmore Row, a private members club with luxurious bar & outdoor terrace where you will be on top of the city to drink in the views before or after dinner in a unique & one off experience in Birmingham City Centre!     A good friend travelled many miles to meet me. I chose the Ivy as I have been going there ever since it opened in Birmingham and eat in the many Ivy restaurants in London and elsewhere. I trust the menu and the wine list. Today the only things that went wrong were a polite request for the table I usually get or the second best table ( in my opinion). Yet having booked several weeks ago both were taken. When were they booked? Secondly the double espresso arrived cold. It was unlike the Ivy to do that. I have known all the previous managers but not the present one. I must introduce myself at my next visit.

    We went to EN Steak last night to ‘celebrate life’ and our experience was exceptional. Our waiter Marco was possibly the friendliest and most helpful waiter we have ever had and this really contributed a lot to the overall experience. When you go out for a meal it’s because you want to be waited on and treated like a guest and Marco made us feel very welcome. We ordered a bottle of Prosecco and he would come over and top our glasses up as soon as they started running low. For our main we shared a 600g fillet steak and that was one of the best steaks we have ever had. They recommend it cooked rare so we followed their recommendation and it didn’t disappoint. The whole place was very quiet and peaceful and in my opinion this just made the whole meal that little bit more enjoyable. The prices are what you would expect from any other steak restaurant, our steak to share was about £15.00 per 100g and this included chips, salad, sauces and butters to share. Overall we can highly recommend and will be coming back next time we are in Birmingham!
