Higher Ground is a bistro and bar located in Manchester city centre that focuses on seasonality within the UK using produce sourced from local suppliers and producers. The restaurant is open Wed-Sat at dinner and Thurs-Sat lunch. From 14th November ’24, Higher Ground is opening on Thursday lunchtimes and is now open from 5pm on Wednesdays and Thursdays!At lunch a £40pp seasonal sharing menu is offered alongside an à la carte menu. At dinner, both an à la carte and a seasonal sharing menu at £58pp are available. Blacklock is a modern take of the Great British chophouse nestled in the corner of a Grade II listed textiles warehouse. We take the best meat in the country from the award-winning farmer and butcher Philip Warren in Cornwall. We cook chops simply over our charcoal grill with a little help from vintage Blacklock irons and serve it all up alongside cocktails from the trolley and wine on tap in our subterranean chop mecca.     Had a wonderful afternoon celebrating an upcoming birthday and had afternoon tea and drinks. The staff were attentive and friendly. Service was fabulous and the food was great. We will definitely be back again and would recommend. Views are amazing and an added bonus.

    First time to Blacklock and we will definitely be visiting again! Food absolutely delicious - we had the "All In" to share. Meat was anazing, flatbread a great idea and gravy was so scrummy. I would prefer more gravy to start with, as you can get more, but just have to get the attention of a member of staff, and it was busy. Great atmosphere, staff were very friendly and helpful. Meat just melted in your mouth, broccoli and walnut salad was very nice and the beef dripping chips were lush! The pre-chop bites were just the right size, loved the kimchi one!

    Absolutely delicious, quality food and drink. I didn’t drink any alcohol and enjoyed the non alcoholic options, so great for either. Highly recommend - the team are lovely and the service was excellent! We look forward to returning!

    It was my first time visiting this restaurant, and I was so excited! My husband and I came to celebrate Christmas early, and I started with a cocktail that was absolutely delicious. Since I hadn’t eaten all day, it didn’t take much to make me tipsy after just one drink! The food was fantastic—juicy and tender steak, fresh scallops . Every bite was a pleasant surprise. A huge thank you to the staff, who were so polite and incredibly attentive. They noticed I got tipsy easily and even thoughtfully gave me a bag just in case I needed it. I really appreciate the care (and sorry for any trouble I caused!). Overall, it was such a wonderful dining experience, and I will definitely be back again. Reika mui
