Dear Sassafraz Team, I hope this message finds you well. I had the pleasure of dining at your restaurant on Sunday, January 5, 2025, at 5:30 PM, to celebrate the birthday of my friend, Daniel Dos Santos. Our table included myself, Daniel, his dad, and his friend. From the moment we arrived, James, our server, provided exceptional service. His attention to detail and friendly demeanour made our dining experience truly enjoyable. The food was absolutely delightful. I thoroughly enjoyed my selections: •Non-Alcoholic Sparkling Riesling – refreshing and crisp. •Chef’s Feature Soup – warm and flavourful. •New York Striploin 10oz – perfectly cooked and seasoned to perfection. •Pistachio Ice Cream – a smooth and delicious finish to the meal. •Americano with Cream – the perfect way to conclude the evening. A special thank you to your team for the thoughtful gesture of providing macarons to celebrate Daniel’s birthday. It added a wonderful touch to an already memorable evening. The atmosphere was so beautiful and the vibe was energetic and cozy at the same time. The people who worked there were so amazing, accommodating, inviting, and truly lovely. Our service was so attentive, really warm, and also entuned with our needs. We didn't feel rushed and got to enjoy our evening. The food was amazing. The service even better. Will definitely go back!

We took my elderly parents and their friends for an anniversary dinner at the David Duncan House and could not be more pleased. From start to finish, the experience was exceptional. The staff was incredibly accommodating and were able to seat us comfortably, The service was impeccable, with our highly knowledgeable and attentive waiter (thank you, John!) taking excellent care of all seven of us throughout the entire evening. The food was outstanding. From the perfectly prepared filet mignon and New York sirloin to the grilled branzino and pan-seared halibut, every dish was a delight. The salads—Greek and kale/brussels sprout—were equally impressive. Dessert was the perfect finale, with the in-house-made crème brûlée and chocolate hazelnut torte earning rave reviews from everyone. Special mention goes to their expertly crafted old-fashioned, featuring Michter's sour mash. Everyone agreed that the David Duncan House made our celebration memorable, and we look forward to returning for another exceptional evening in this beautiful and refined space.

We really like to try lots of different tastes so loved the diversity of this menu. We are also seniors and not big eaters, so the small version tasting menu was best for us. The restaurant is extremely careful about ensuring there are no food allergies, not only when the reservation is taken, but when confirmed and again once you arrive. If you love food, definitely try this experience. The service is exceptional, and they responded immediately to my request to lower the music a bit, as where we were sitting it was a bit loud. Definitely a spot for a special occasion.
