Chef Vincenzo Mangiafridda, a twenty-year restaurant veteran of the Upper East Side, wanted to open a restaurant that spoke to his deep Sicilian roots. In 83 1/2, his vision has become reality. Russian Vodka Room invites guests to spend time with friends while savoring quality vodka and Russian delicacies. Decorated with wooden furniture, artwork and chandeliers, the restaurant creates an ambience of a traditional Russian home.Its menu features caviar, borscht, duck liver pate, meat dumplings and other appetizers, as well as herring under a fur coat, a typical layered salad. Russian Vodka Room’s patrons can dine on main entrées such as beef stroganoff with kasha, a type of porridge, roast duck with apples, prunes and apricots or breaded and pan-seared sea bass. Farmer’s cheese pancakes with chocolate and other desserts are on the menu, as well. We ordered the panzanella, the gnocchi, the ravioli, the bolognese, the carbonara… all were perfection!! Every bite was incredible. The Malbec and the old fashioned were ideal, the crème brûlée was just what we hoped it would be, and the service was just right every moment of the evening. Can’t wait to come back!

Very cute bistro that made me feel like I was back in Europe! The food was delicious (with HUGE portions) and there was a great variety of beer to taste. I came here for a weekday lunch, and the interior was cozy and quiet. I'll definitely be coming back!
