I appreciate a restaurant with a good chateauneuf-du-pape by the glass! The carbonnade and our other main course selections were excellent, with the fries always outstanding. My mom loved her baked escargots. The floating island and chocolate mousse are our constant go-tos that never disappoint. Her app made us swoon (yes, I got one taste, but I feared for my life if I tried for more). Main of Dover Sole was very good for me, but the truffle risotto for herself...outrageous! Desserts were masterpieces worthy of photography -- but we don't do that. As always, front/back of the house were top-notch. Quiet enough that it was easy to carry on a conversation, We were on a tighter schedule than our normal visits there, and the wait staff were very understanding and helpful. I love to go and spend a leisurely lunch or dinner at La Cote D'Or, but if you have an hour or slightly more, you can still get a wonderful meal and experience for a reasonable price.
