After an hour’s walk on a misty betwixmas morning, myself, husband and trusty black lab Jack, settled into a cosy corner of the bar for lunch (booked in advance given the time of year). Despite the ‘not wanting to eat for a month’ feeling post Christmas turkey, the walk and perusing the varied menu did the trick in building up our appetites! Having seen the list of desserts, we decided to skip the small plates despite how tempting they were. I had the lamb shank, washed down with a warming glass of Merlot. The lamb was everything you’d want from a perfectly cooked shank - meat melting off the bone, coupled with fluffy Parmesan and garlic mash, red cabbage and a delicious sauce. My husband chose the cheddar soufflé which was gooey perfection accompanied by potatoes and greens. The presentation of both dishes was excellent. For dessert, I went for the vanilla and maple cheesecake with salted caramel sauce whilst my husband had the sticky toffee pudding with a specially made for him sticky toffee sauce (the menu had a brandy sauce but my husband doesn’t consume any alcohol) and ice cream. This was also delicious. Again, both desserts were beautifully presented with redcurrant and blackberry garnishes. The staff were attentive to the perfect degree, the bar area was clean, tidy and nicely laid out. The complimentary still or sparkling water was a nice touch. Overall the meal and experience was 5 star. We will definitely be back, maybe even with the teenagers! Would thoroughly recommend!

We visited as a couple on Christmas Eve - was very happy with service / quality of the meal …… and the cost. Highly recommended - would definitely visit again. Special thanks to the 2 you young ladies serving on Christmas Eve - great service !

Christmas Eve lunch at the White Hart was a delightful experience, brimming with warmth and festivity. We commenced our meal with an array of tempting nibbles: delectable Pancetta and Cheddar croquettes, perfectly crispy fried squid, and a selection of freshly baked breads. Each bite was exquisite, though I must admit to a tinge of disappointment at the absence of the beef dripping butter from the menu. Truth be told, my cardiologist is likely relieved, as that indulgent delight was nothing short of dangerously sublime. For the main course, my wife and son indulged in the renowned Kelmscott pork, complete with crackling and a medley of seasonal vegetables. My wife, in particular, loves this dish, often declaring it ‘divine.’ I opted for the venison accompanied by silky mash, which was equally splendid. The service was impeccable, a testament to the dedication of the staff, and I have no complaints in that regard. Our server, Harry, recognized me from a previous visit, which left me wondering whether that was a testament to his keen memory or a bad reflection on my ‘could do better’ behaviour. Harry stands out as a rare gem among young men these days. He is bright, exceptionally polite, engaging, and articulate. I worry that once he departs for university, the White Hart will feel his absence profoundly. Is a lovely Gastropub near The Royal Crescent. Staff are fruendly and professional. Been there several tikes when stsying in Bath. Good choice of food but as a non garlic llover, I should have avoided the mushroom rissoto. Their fush and chips and steak are excellent. Can be a little noisy at busy times as children and dogs there but has a happy atmosphere.

Amazing food. Festive menu was great. Turkey roulade lovely with all the trimmings. Friendly efficient service in lovely surroundings.
