Welcome to The Red Lion Bishopgate!On the banks of the River Wensum and a stone's throw from Norwich Cathedral. We serve fresh, locally sourced food all day, everyday. Our head chef Tom has created a menu suitable for everyone, including gluten free, vegan and vegetarian options. We serve a delicious Sunday roast every weekend.Brunch is also available every weekend 10:00am-12 noon (11:30am on Sundays). Please see below our food serving times:Monday - Thursday: 12:00-20:00Friday & Saturday: 12:00-21:00Sunday: 12:00-19:00 with a choice of roasts and bar classics.We always leave some tables free, so if you can't make a booking just pop in to see if you can grab a table! Large car park for customers.Please note, your booking is allocated for 2 hours. Tables in the garden are rain proof and we do have heating, but may not be suitable in heavy rain.     We were a big party (9) and it was a surprisingly busy night for a Wednesday. The service was unobtrusive yet attentive. It was a refreshing change not to have a burger on the menu and sets the York out as something more than pub grub. Food arrived together and was tasty. A few had the very good value risotto special. My Cod was delicious. Most had puddings and the Gorgonzola with toasted fruit bread, pickled walnuts and onion marmalade was a real highlight. The Black Forest Trifle was a hit too. With drinks and service charge at £38 a head it was a super birthday party meal. We will return!

    The £10.50 Pasta and Wine offer at The Red Lion, Bishopgate, is outstanding value. The pasta was well-cooked and flavourful, and the accompanying glass of wine complemented the meal perfectly. Service was prompt and efficient, making for a relaxed and enjoyable dining experience. Given the quality of the food and drink at this price, it’s hard to fault. A fantastic deal in a lovely setting—highly recommended!

    Friendly and pleasant staff who were also very helpful. We had the roast beef and it was so tender and well presented with the vegetables and the decent size Yorkshire pudding. Very tasty and filling would highly recommend and would visit again, good prices
