Taxim, which is located in Chicago's Wicker Park neighborhood, features regionally-inspired Greek dishes paired with an all-Greek wine list. The stunning dining room is fitted with soaring 16-foot ceilings, travertine marble floors, dramatic Byzantine-style lamps and artwork, and the rooftop dining area lined with Greek flowering herbs.The restaurant was chosen as one of of Chicago's Best New Restaurants in 2009/2010 by the Chicago Tribune, Chicago Magazine and the Chicago Reader. Founded in 1969 by brothers Peter and Taki Adamis, the Glenview location quickly became THE popular dining destination. In 1997, new owners Bill and George Stavrou carried forward the tradition in Glenview, and later in 2014 when they opened its Wilmette location.Our philosophy has always been and is to create a true neighborhood tavern.     Excellent food and great ambience. Service was a little on the slow side particularly since it was not busy. However, we were just hanging out, so it wasn't really an issue. Highly recommended.

    Absolutely outstanding! This restaurant has some of the best Mediterranean flavors I’ve ever experienced. The Lavraki was perfectly cooked—crispy on the outside, tender and flaky inside, with just the right touch of seasoning. The beet salad was a fresh and vibrant masterpiece, beautifully balanced with flavors and textures. The Tzatziki was creamy, tangy, and the perfect complement to the meal. And don’t even get me started on the baklava— frozen yogurt, crispy pastry sheets, honey with just the right amount of sweetness to end the meal on a high note. From start to finish, the food was impeccable, and the service was warm and attentive. Highly recommend!

    My husband and I live in the same town as Donny G's. It was our 1st time there. What a gem. We will be back. The service from the minute we hit the door was outstanding. The drinks and food were so good. We savoured every bite of both our meals. We had the whitefish and rotini w/ meatballs in parm. sauce. The bread and oil/cheese appetizer was yummy. The Pasta Fagioli soup, and Cesar's salad were spot on. We were so pleased and couldn't say enough. It is so hard to get a good meal for the value nowadays. We can't wait to bring our family there. The waitress was warm and friendly. I have a feeling this will become our "go to place" Give it a try, you will be pleasantly pleased.
