The name Melina is rooted in Greek origin and derives from the Greek word for "honey". "Mel" can be derived from the name Melissa meaning "honey-bee". The restaurant is named after the daughter of Co-Founder Chef Dimitri Moshovitis. “Melina” will honor the strength of the matriarchy in the Greek family.     The cod and market fish special were excellent. We started with the two different salads. We ended with the donuts, which were a bit much and not super special. We would have preferred a different dessert. We were celebrating an anniversary, and they did make it special with a bit of sparkling wine and a sparkler on the table, as well as a card. We saw a number of special celebrations for birthdays and such nearby. It is a nice place for a special night.

    The event I attended was an anniversary celebration that you needed to purchase a ticket for. The fact that you could arrive between 3-9 p.m. stay as long as you wanted sipping on your wine or cocktail made it very special. The food was good and plentiful, the wine selection was outstanding. if they have another event like this I will definitely attend.

    The brunch buffet was definitely worth the price. I typically don’t like buffets but there were plenty of options and the food was consistently replenished. The baklava pancakes, the brussel sprouts and the seafood options were my favorite.

    Excellent family run restaurant. A great find. Excellent food, service, atmosphere. The decor is charming, and comfortable, nicely appointed. Prices for many items are reasonable a couple just slightly high, nothing outlandish. Overall a terrific restaurant well worth the drive. No wonder they were packed. Absolutely we will be back!!!!
