Design of the restaurant is led by interior architect John Heah with a strong focus on art and craftsmanship complete with extraordinary signature wall panels, tables and chairs made by Mira Nakashima bespoke for the space.Located on the ground floor of the hotel, the intimate 46-seat Connaught Grill is under the direction of internationally renowned chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten. This is his modern interpretation of a classic grill with an open kitchen complete with wood-burning grill and rotisserie offering the finest British sourced produce. Goldies’ menu focuses on the use of a wood-fired grill, with a selection of small and large plates connected by rich, smoky flavours. Highlights include a Merguez Scotch Egg with harissa mayonnaise, Marinated Baby Chicken with smoked yoghurt, and Grilled Wild Mushrooms, Baby Leek, and a confit egg yolk. In a nod to the founders’ French roots, variations of the iconic Frites are the signature of the restaurant, which are hand-cut and twice-cooked, in either beef dripping or vegetable oil.The design of the space is centred on the expertise of wood-fired cooking, with kitchen counter seating to create a dramatic dining experience for guests. The interiors are cosy, with contemporary decoration, terracotta warm tones and a groovy musical atmosphere. Goldies features a noteworthy terrace that fits 30 guests.

    Son's 18th birthday special request meal. Absolutely Outstanding steaks. Possibly the finest fillet steak I have ever had perfectly cooked. Great selection of Malbec. Service was the best we have received - ever. From the welcome we received to the timely taking of orders. The restaurant gave my son his first legal beer as a welcome gift and a special birthday dessert with candle accompanied by a restaurant wide happy birthday song orchestrated by the staff. A minor mix up in the order was rectified with grace and generosity. My son ended up with two rib eye steaks which he declared were the best he had ever eaten. Our waitress contributed to a precious family evening with skill and the perfect blend of attentive but non intrusive service. Cannot recommend highly enough.

    Great food and I liked the atmosphere in the room, nice to know there was an opportunity to have shisha. As for the service, the manager was great and he was professional however the waitresses felt like they’ve not worked in hospitality before unless they were new to the role then I would take this back. They weren’t very pleasant, and when we needed someone there was nobody around for example we needed knives and folks and we waited a long time for that. Other than that the food was good
