Located on High Holborn, close to the British Museum, the restaurant is elegantly designed and filled with original Indian art and antique furniture including century old items made for Maharajas which take diners on a journey through Indian culture and history. The menu reflects regional accents with a contemporary viewpoint. It is food that observes the established traditions of Indian cooking but breaks the rules a little by Executive Chef Sohan Bhandari. The steward didn’t have much experience serving people. The sweet section of high tea had small shot glasses to be shared between 2 people. The menu said jalebi but the shot glass had a sprinkling of jalebi piece. I think this should be rethought as it’s physically impossible to share a shot glass worth of anything. Steward was very loud and started clearing tables when one of the party was still eating even though there were 10 other tables that were empty

Food was excellent as always, and great service. It is pricey but also servings are huge - I’d happily reduce both by 25% and still walk away full instead of wasting anything.
