That said, this was the most perfect dining experience I can recall, MAYBE since an outing to Le Bernardin a decade ago - but different from that in every way. The space, the ambiance - exuding the warmth of a tavern - the quality of the directly sourced ingredients, the impeccable preparation (including PERFECT technique on some oft-challenging game meats) and most of all, the SERVICE, could not have been more perfect. Not stuffy, not pretentious - just down to earth people who know what they’re doing and what to do it with - letting the ingredients speak for themselves. Outstanding.
