Midwest Italian restaurant focusing on house made pastas, utilizing vegetables from Chef Joe Frillman’s family farm. Our bakery and cafe serves La Colombe Coffee alongside an array of pastries and sandwiches crafted by Chef Leigh Omilinksy.Dinner reservations are available Tuesday - Sunday; we are closed for dinner service on Mondays. Our cafe operates from 7:00am - 3:00pm every day. Lunch is available from 11:00am - 2:00pm every day. We do not take lunch or cafe reservations, it is first come first served. Please note that there will be a 25% service charge applied to all bills. This goes to pay our staff equitably as well as provide health and other benefits not typically offered in restaurants.

The wine selection is meticulously chosen (and inspired by our yearly trips to Italy for the Vin Italy fair) to pair with our different plates made with the freshest ingredients. Chef Chepe sources fresh items from the market daily. He butchers our fish and meats daily, makes all of our sauces and soups in house and most of our deserts.     This was our first visit. The service was superb in all aspects. The food is inventive and well prepared. Not all dishes were fully successful but all displayed creativity. The deserts wrere wonderful. The ambience was very comfortable and inviting. All staff. were friendly and welcoming. A word of caution. The City of Chicago in their infinite wisdom has installed bike lanes on Milwaukee Ave. and effectively reduced street parking by 50 percent. There is valet parking next door and save yourself aggravation by using it.

    We used to be huge fans of Owen & Engine & can see now why this is becoming a local favorite.The place is beautifully lit and feels welcoming. Tuna tartare was very fresh as well as their specialty dish Ossobucco veal shank. Blood orange margaritas were definitely the hit of the evening. Christian & Lupe definitely made us feel part of their own family

    Portions too small when considering price. They were out of two dishes we were looking forward to, ribs and lamb shanks. Great selection of wines by the glass. Once the restaurant is full, it is too noisy for relaxed conversation. For us seniors, the earlier the better.
