    The food was amazing! And we really enjoyed the place overall. The udon mushroom was a little overcooked but it tasted good. The only thing I want to put forward is… that our waitress came to our table twice.. we had to wait on her for a long time to ask her to order more. We finally had to ask other staff members to order more food for us. That was a little disappointing.

    These guys are really on top of their game with wonderful food and exceptional service! Highly recommended, in an area where it seems a surplus of good choices exists for the hungry diner, this izakaya really stands out. There are specials that change frequently, a deconstructed potato salad (bacon bits, fried onions, mayo, mustard, eggs, plus the namesake potatos) was absolutely shocking in the freshness and savouriness of its components, the sushi fish specials are always exceptionally tasty, the tempura and kalbi (ribs) are popular dishes (among other diners we noticed) for good reasons, very good and compelling reasons indeed! We particularly love the octopus dish which presents a really tender piece of invertebrate tentacle, plus potatos, backed with some very complex sauces involving garlic and miso. The rice plus protein (eg beef, pork, eel) bowls are remarkable as well, highly satisfying as comfort food if you desire that. Looking forward to going back regularly... Note too there is a happy hour daily up to 630PM with cheaper bar food items, eg fries and cheaper draft sapporo. Well worth the cheapness there!

    We had an exceptional evening at Yukashi. Chef was very entertaining and answered all of our questions about the ingredients and Japanese cuisine. Everything was creatively presented and flavourful. We enjoyed the sake pairings and trying the chef’s own sake creations. The service was excellent and the restaurant had a wonderful ambiance. It was fun and elegant.
