Sungchul Shim, formerly of Per Se and most recently Neta, opens his first solo project Kochi in Hell’s KitchenKOCHI - Korean for ‘skewer’- a tasting menu of skewered dishes as well as menu items inspired by traditional Korean cuisine that’s built around seasonality and balance. We are proud to present this menu as an homage to traditional Korean flavors elevated by the hand of gastronomic technique. What a special experience! Food and drinks were great! Everything on the menu was available except for one cocktail (there are many). We were warm and comfy. The person grilling and serving was so wonderful - loved hearing his experiences and his recommendations were spot on. We had fish cakes, noodle soup with mackerel, and pork belly. All were superb!

The food and service were both excellent, exceeding our already high expectations. One of our party has celiac disease: the server carefully walked us through the menu items that he could choose to eat. The pace of the arrival of the dishes -from snacking items, small plates, and entrees - worked well, and our table was never empty or overcrowded. Three hours passed quickly; we all enjoyed the meal immensely.

This is such a unique and wonderful NYC experience. The food was fabulous, and the space was gorgeous. Everyone was so nice and welcoming to us, and it's so fun to get to know an up-and-coming chef. I can't recommend it enough!
