Korean architecture lends consideration to the positioning of the house in relation to its surroundings, with thought given to the land and seasons. The structure of hanok is used tiled roofs (giwa) that not only enhanced its functional efficiency, but also possessed great artistic value.

Melbourne Hwaro Korean BBQ is a place where one can fully enjoy that authentic Korean taste. Just like mother used to makeTaste is something Hwaro is particular about. Taste is what owner and chef Eunsook Kim is mostly concerned with. Her dignified and somber character, reminds many people of their own mothers. Kim herself is essential to Hwaro. The preparations for all the meat and sauce available at Hwaro are handled by Kim alone. This includes supervision of the slicing of the Karubi (boneless short ribs), and preparation of the 23 different ingredients* needed for the hot pepper Sangyu Pusaru seasoning. Nearly all of the seasonings lined up on the tables are Kim's own creations.

I was pleasantly surprised to see a lovely, well thought out meal at a thought out price to show another side of Korean cuisine that some may not be familiar with, especially the perilla seed oil cold noodles which was lovely and nutty and the naengguk with my meal I had tonight. Thank you again for the opening and definitely shall be bringing others if not me myself and I for another meal when the opportunity shows itself

Finally got to eat here after seeing into the buzzing restaurant a few times. Very nice staff helped us to work out the routine (select and pay for meat and fish) then taken to our bbq. Many different sauces and small dishes arrive. We really enjoyed the wagyu beef and the eel. The kimchi was fine, not too spicy.
