Executive Chef Heyward Davis and Chef De Cuisine Daniel James create regional specialties that emphasize farm to table practices using locally grown fruits and vegetables with respect to the traditional beloved flavors and techniques of the Lowcountry.Known for its award-winning Shrimp and Grits, The Swamp Fox Restaurant and Bar overlooks historic Marion Square Park and is popular with both locals and visitors to Charleston. Guests can enjoy live piano Friday and Saturday nights from 6pm - 9pm.The restaurant also has a private dining room, the Parkview, that seats thirty and overlooks King Street and Marion Square Park. Well Hung Vineyard was started in 2008 by three women in Virginia! “Well Hung” is a well known term within the wine industry for robust grapes hanging low. Well Hung Vineyard’s wine is sourced from California, Washington & Oregon. Five of our twelve wines have won medals in the last few months. Our Petit Verdot won best in class, out of 200 wineries a few months ago.Come by and try out our amazing food, wines and cocktail selection from the beauty of our second floor patio, our grand second floor dinning room, or our white oak bar!

    Eric was very helpful with my gluten allergies. My husband ordered Shrimp and Grits and the waiter recommended the mini versus dinner size portion which is quite large. My Risotto and scallops were delicious. The Pear salad was quite good and was plentiful with cranberries, gorgonzola and toasted pecans. The ambiance was delightful with a piano man playing Christmas Carols.

    If you’re looking for cozy and comfortable, friendly and fun this is the place! All ages, 68/70 here, parents with a 6 yo, couples. Wide range of wine flights, great Old Fashioneds, wonderful desserts and dessert wines. Nice menu…not 5 Star dining but good choices. Not “bar food”! Chef is great for accommodating specific dietary needs. Thanks Brandon for your great service! We always put Well Hung on our list when we visit Charleston.

    Such a delightful dining experience in every way! A sunset view of Shem Creek, an unhurried and relaxed dining experience thanks to our waitstaff, perfectly concocted cocktails and yes, the food!!! It was perfect- thank you to everyone at Tavern and Table!

    Let me start by saying Mike is an incredible host, server, chef, and historian. This was a one of a kind experience and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a unique culinary experience in Charleston. While it is not a conventional restaurant, Mike takes you on a culinary journey of 18th and 19th century low country cuisine, keeping things as authentic as possible while still appealing to our modern palates. Each dish was carefully crafted and thoughtfully prepared. The table was full of strangers, but we all got to chat and listen to Mike’s wonderful presentation of Charleston history to go along with each dish. Our specific meal was centered around Legacy families of Charleston, so we enjoyed dishes each family would have also enjoyed. Mike deserves all of the attention and reservations he can handle. As he says, he’s one of Charleston’s best kept secrets, and I believe that to be true because I had a fantastic experience.
