The Salt Line - Navy Yard offers indoor STANDARD seating and OUTDOOR Patio Seating. Our OUTDOOR riverfront patio seating has been winterized and is now comfortably available all year round. The OUTDOOR reservations area has been tastefully enclosed in clear insulated curtains that still provide a scenic river view and is well protected, well heated and honored all weather. Additionally we offer FIREPIT LOUNGE reservations in our large outdoor bar area and first come first served bar, hightop and lounge seating. Please note: the Outdoor Bar area with hightops is covered and well heated but the fire pit and lounge seating is uncovered and so weather permitting. If your desired reservation is not available online or of you have any reservations questions please call the restaurant for more up to the minute information and assistance. A modern American restaurant in Navy Yard where Executive Chef Reid Shilling serves his take on seasonal cuisine highlighting ingredients from around the Chesapeake region. Experiences include a 7-course tasting menu (served exclusively at the Chef's Counter), a 3-course prix fixe menu, an a la carte menu, and a weekend brunch menu.The 7-course tasting menu is seasonally driven and changes regularly offering guests a front-row seat to the open kitchen. Enjoy an expansive offering of Chef Reid Shilling’s regularly changing culinary creations and seasonally-inspired dishes, all prepared with a hyper-local approach to sourcing. This experience is the only menu served at the Chef’s Counter and may be previewed on our website.

Outstanding server John. He was very accommodating and helpful as well as personable. I will say that the choice of tables when we came in was Limited and so we sat at a booth, which turned out to be fine, but I think on the patio it might be nice if you had seating for parties greater than four. Otherwise, everything was very, very good.

Food was delicious and drink was good. Service was terrible. Waiter was uninterested and didnt want to be there. He did not introduce himself and never check on us. Other servers were having to do his work. Unfortunate because food is so good.
