The ambience was nice, there’s parking onsite and staff were friendly. Our only complaint is that service was slow from start to finish, which was a shame. I would recommend this restaurant as the food was lovely and it’s good value for money. Beautifully presented, vibrant and piquant food, fully explained by the enthusiastic and engaging staff. Pleasant room with lively, unobtrusive background music (the positive review by Grace Dent referred to the room being 'bare' - that must have been some while ago). We both opted for the £48 tasting menu, which brings our only comment: all dishes were served on single plates for two of us to share, which suggests portions for a single person having the tasting menu would be small. The dessert in particular - we'd reasonably expected a portion each, not half of one.
