It’s not easy to pick favourites but we can wholeheartedly recommend the calamari fritti, fried squid with mayonnaise and chilli sauce; carpaccio di Manzo, beef carpaccio with confit rhubarb; penna Pomodoro, fresh tomato sauce and Parmesan; spaghetti carbonara with egg, black pepper and homemade guanciale; raviolo al Tartufo, truffles, potato, parmesan and truffle butter ravioli; and that’s only if you can talk yourself out of ordering one of the spectacular pizzas, which are to die for. Space at Cugini is limited, so bookings are essential at this Club Street restaurant in Singapore.

Food was great and the staff accommodated our unusual order (full salads with split entree). Only qualm was the setting (it’s a restaurant in a mall—which wasn’t fully expected) and the slowness with which our drinks arrived.
