It has been re-mixed and re-imagined by the people behind the multi-award winning Altrincham Market; Mackie Mayor, Manchester and Picturedrome, Macclesfield.The Nag's Head is a listed building that dates back to its origin as a Smithy in the 1740's, on the trade route connecting the ports of Liverpool and North Wales to the Potteries.At The Nag's Head sister venues we have earned a reputation for high quality food, delivered in beautiful buildings, served informally. I had booked a table in the restaurant but was actually seated in the bar dining area. However the table we had was fine as it was reasonably quiet. The service , food and atmosphere were very good. The staff were very polite, friendly and helpful. I have been to The Royal Oak a few times at various times of the day over past 12 months as it is an ideal place to meet ip with friends and will be going again in the new year.

We both had steaks. It was probably the best steak we’ve had in a long time, the chips were cooked to perfection and everything was hot! Will definitely return.

Excellent service. Very prompt and helpful staff. Food good.....portions not as sizeable as hoped, but tasted good. Children’s menu had good choice and reasonably priced. A nice pub for a casual meal out.
