Public Fish & Oyster is our favorite restaurant for dinner.

This was a right-after Chistmas dinner for 5 friends. Everything was close to perfect. Three of us had crabcakes , 1 had the princess cut of prime rib and the fifth had scallops. Our waiter was attentive and friendly and knowledgeable, and pronto on multiple requests for drinks. Everyone remarked at the wonderful food, with two exceptions - two said their broccoli could have been steamed longer, but then mine was juicy soft and delicious. The baked potatoes and broccoli portions are huge and two of our party split theirs and shared with others. Two had onion soup and said it was the best they ever had. Two got deserts - the strawberrry cheesecake and chocolate cake and said they were delish. It was quiet where we were seated and no one had trouble hearing conversations. All in all we had a wonderful time talking and eating. We will be back.

We were happy to celebrate Christmas dinner at The Ridley, a new restaurant for us near home. Our server was the best we’ve ever had! She was very attentive and sweet, even offering to take our picture. The southern-style Christmas buffet was excellent, especially the collards and desserts, according to my partner. I had blackened salmon, perfectly prepared.

Not as good as a few weeks back. Food is still solid, although it's odd that coffee is made by the bar. And they were clearly short-staffed. May pause on going back for a little while.

Overall, five star. Nitpicks: we both had surf and turf. Wife’s steak was overcooked, more than requested medium rare. They offered to replace it but that would be wasteful. Accompanying shrimp were peel and eat which was unexpected. Otherwise, no complaints. We would go again if in the area. The inn was a great place to stay.
