Located on High Holborn, close to the British Museum, the restaurant is elegantly designed and filled with original Indian art and antique furniture including century old items made for Maharajas which take diners on a journey through Indian culture and history. The menu reflects regional accents with a contemporary viewpoint. It is food that observes the established traditions of Indian cooking but breaks the rules a little by Executive Chef Sohan Bhandari. Our menu goes beyond a 1970’s “Curry”, beyond street food and into a world of real Indian flavours. Our signature dishes include our traditional lunch Tiffin, Khaati Rolls , Colonel Saab’s smoked lamb shank and figs poached in Assam tea cognac.The bar is a great meeting place and afterwork destination serving signature house cocktails created to compliment the menu. A new Upmarket Indian Restaurant just opened in Fashionable Belsize Lane. Dishes are cooked with care and to perfection by Head Chef who hails from the Taj Group in India and has worked for a Michelin Star Indian Restaurant. Healthy cooked techniques are employed as well as separation of all White fish, seafood, lamb, chicken and vegetables with individual labelling and storage. Already becoming a favourite with all the Belsize Village locals this restaurant has something for every palate with a number of regional dishes from Punjab in the North to Kerala and Tamil Nadu in the South, with so many regional dishes on offer, we are sure you will find your taste. The intimate atmosphere and sensational staff have made Babur a favourite dining destination with Forest Hill locals, and the food is worth making a trip across town for. Food was absolutely delicious - best curry I've had in a long time. Service excellent. My only slight criticism would be decor - as we went near to Christmas it would have been nice to have had a few Christmassy lights/decor. Otherwise, I can't fault it.

A little expensive but being someone who has had a catering business and has cooked for a double Michelin star chef I have to say that the food was amazing and cannot wait to bring my family for a double birthday celebration on the 9th. The food was fresh and piping hot, extremely flavoursome and beautifully presented. The prawns were just so tender and cooked to perfection. A huge thank you to the team also, so polite and professional. I cannot stop bragging about this restaurant to everyone. Please keep to these standards as they are truly deserving of recognition. Well done to you all. Jaz
