If you've answered yes to one or more of these then perhaps Tollington's can refresh both your pallet and your mindThe idea came from a mirror in an antiques market and a love for a more informal approach to dining, the result a chippy in North London with church pews bolted to the walls to be leaned on and eaten from. The focus is on fish but the menu transcends just fish, leaving no stone unturned in the never ending quest for flavour Split between two rooms, the kitchen and bar shared by customers as they perch on bar stools and enjoy dinner and a show. The back room - lower lighting, lower seating, a slight calm compared to the front room. Works of art from friends of the restaurant adorn the walls and floors

Llerena takes its name from a little village in Extremadura, southwest Spain, where four generations of our family has raised Iberian pigs since 1939, producing authentic "Bellota" jamón ibérico, chorizo and other pork delicacies. Our family created a business around the farm called Jamón y Salud to sell our gourmet products and has now brought this exquisite taste of Spain to Islington with the Llerena Ibérico Tapas Bar. Not only can you sample ibérico pork grilled meats and finest jamón, but also creamy Torta del Casar cheese and other traditional Extremadura's delights as well as the best wine from our region.

    Absolutely delicious Basque food - such a treat to find in London. The wild mushrooms dish is a great dupe of the Ganbara dish in San Sebastian. The quail was beautiful, and I loved the flavours of the brown crab risotto but the risotto grains were slightly underdone. And definitely get the pain perdu, i'm not much of a sweets person but this blew my mind. Great dish. Beautiful, buzzy place to sit with some nice wine and a gilda and have a catch up, which is exactly what we did! Staff are lovely and super knowledgeable.
