Established in 1987, Meson Don Felipe was the first Tapas Bar in London and we are still an independent, family-run business. You can expect great tapas and some amazing, well-priced Spanish wines, served in an authentic, relaxed atmosphere. We have an outside terrace with heaters and umbrellas but of course, we can't promise the weather! Opera Tavern is a beautiful two-storey bar and restaurant in the heart of central London’s theatre land. Located on Catherine Street we are opposite the Drury Lane Theatre, seconds from the Opera House, a stone’s throw from The Strand and a lovely walk across Waterloo Bridge from the South Bank. A beautiful former pub, the exposed brickwork, bold artwork and flattering low lighting help our two-story restaurant create the perfect atmosphere for a pre-theatre meal or drink. We regularly go here after visiting The Young Vic. There’s always a warm welcome, great food and efficient service. The room can feel a bit tight and noisy when full - which it usually is - but that’s no bad thing on a street with plenty of alternatives! As a vegetarian, I always have some good options from the ‘Garden’ section of the menu, but who wouldn’t want more?! A good chickpea dish, for example, or beans? But the tortilla, escalivada (peppers, onions, aubergines and tomatoes) and berenjenas (battered aubergines) will always keep me happy - and the vegetarian paella is fantastic!

A superb dining experience for a birthday celebration. Our server, Max, was helpful and attentive; the portions were plentiful and the food was delicious with a great balance of flavours. I would recommend a cosy table upstairs and to not pass up the cod, lamb and pork belly dishes. We will certainly visit during our next visit.

Would come back again in a heartbeat ! Very attentive host and food was so tasty! Portion sizes for tapas are very generous but that allowed us to take some home which I thoroughly enjoyed the following day!

Lovely place for lunch around Southwark. Nice view rooftop and a little Mediterranean garden ambience would be perfect for quick brunch with friends in the summer time. While lobster rice was delicious!
