General Public is inspired by trying to imagine what an upscale English pub would be if it had the heart of an American brasserie (and was open 11 to 11). It’s also going to signal a little bit of steakhouse, but not too much. And finally, it will look behind itself at the Black Hoof, which you will see reflected in James Santon’s menu here and there. In terms of vibe, the main floor is ‘everything’s gone green’, with lush comfortable banquette seating, warm wood, and barstools designed for long conversations over many cocktails. Upstairs you’ll find a completely different space that transports you to a peachy 80s dream. Had the time of our lives at PSP! Sat at the bar and Santana was not only helpful and accommodating, but so fun! Our server, Kevin led us through a “trust me” menu where he curated four courses for us. Every dish exceeded our expectations. We loved the prime rib special, 27 layer potatoes, lobster spaghetti and maple tart, but everything was delicious. While we didn’t order wine, we also really enjoyed chatting with head sommelier, Ian. The vibe and ambiance are perfect, especially given the smaller size of the restaurant. A must eat in Toronto!

Excellent food and outstanding service! The only issue I noticed was related to accessibility. My mother has mobility issues and had to climb 2 flights of stairs to go to the restroom. Apart from that, excellent experience!

Daphne is my favorite restaurant in the Financial District for business lunches. Tables are far enough apart to have a decent conversation, food is very good and service is outstanding. Every time I have brought a guest here for a business lunch, they've been delighted. Highly recommend!
