Our steaks are freshly-cut every day.The Chatham Cut does NOT use pre-packaged previously cut pre-weighed plastic-wrapped meat, or cook our steaks using the "Sous Vide," method as many other non-specialist restaurants do. Every "Cut," is fresh, which offers the special flavor profile our guests have searched for.Our offerings are prepared in the true steakhouse old-world tradition. Side options are also steakhouse traditional, with fresh vegetables as well as loaded baked potatoes.For those who love seafood, we offer our oysters, sourced from within walking distance and many exciting spins on traditional offerings. The Cut's Yellowfin Tuna is popular as a Tartar as well as our Sushi-Grade Entree.Plan ahead for your visit!The Chatham Cut is an intimate dining experience.We do not offer a wait-list. From July 1st, 1957, there had been two owners of Pates, Cloyde Pate followed by the Gardner family of Chatham. Mr. Pate opened the doors to what would soon become one of Cape Cod’s most beloved restaurants. Once a cozy hamburger and ice cream stand, Pates grew to be a place of celebration, camaraderie, and community. From the bonds staff made during countless summer seasons, to the engagements, anniversaries, birthdays, and family gatherings, Pates has been a backdrop for exceptional moments and people. We are honored to steward the next chapter of the Pates journey. A renovated space to create new memories and friends, Pates is still that very special place. With careful consideration, we have redefined this Chatham classic and are serving up an experience rooted in the best things in life: great food, good people, and lifelong memories.

Embargo is open and is the place to be on Cape Cod, featuring a chic and sophisticated atmosphere with amazing food and handcrafted cocktails. Our menu features dry aged steaks cooked to perfection, mouth watering tapas, and of course, fresh local seafood. Each meal becomes an event when shared with friends and family!PLEASE NOTE: DUE TO HIGH DEMAND, we do not guarantee reservations for outdoor patio seating. Tables are sat on a first come, first serve basis. If you have a reservation and request outdoor seating, you may endure a brief waiting period.     Our dinner at Pate’s Restaurant was extraordinary in every way! It earned 10 gold stars from the moment we stepped in the door!     When you find yourself in New Bedford, MA, treat yourself to a meal at The Black Whale. Extremely convenient location, plenty of parking and a beautiful building make a great first impression. We were warmly greeted by a Manager and a Server, and even though we were 40 minutes early, they sat us straight away. The menu is extensive, however, not overwhelming, and SO many great choices. Our Server, Meredith was very warm and welcoming, starting us off with water and their delectable salmon dip with tasty “crackers”. To aid the decision making process, my wife started with a Painkiller, and I a Maine Lunch. We finally decided on the tuna poke bowl for my wife and the pan-seared scallops for me. Oh, and I had to try the New England Clam Chowder, the best I have had in quite some time. Then Meredith informed me the chowder is an Officials and People’s choice award winner from this year’s festival. Please do try it! Honestly one of the most delightful, delicious and enjoyable meals I’ve had in the area. The Black Whale is definitely a must do when you find yourself in the New Bedford area, or you are just passing through.
