So we went to Perry's Valentine's night and had a reservation at 645 and they were running 15-20 min behind finally at 730 we Sat down but they had no glasses clean for drinks waited about 15 more for water and drinks from the bar. We had a limited menu but I was disappointed that they sat me in the bar beside someone I could hear the entire conversation and they were so loud and it was hard for my husband to even hear anything. And I booked for the patio too. The service was spectacular though as the food . The wedge salad was fantastic. The wine was super expensive one glass was 56.00 and it was ok. The steak and lobster was delicious and I could honestly say the fillet was the best I ever had. The mashed potatoes were really good as were the veggies too. The chocolate covered strawberries were scrumptious. We had so much food left over definitely enough for 4 people. Price wise the food definitely was worth it. Not so much the wine. Definitely would go back just not for Valentine's Day. They had 1500 reservations and I feel they overbooked for everyone. Hopefully next year they limit the reservations. I feel you get better service and not so rushed. We didn't even get to finish our salads before food was out.

The Ruth Chris Steak House in Midlothian is, in my opinion, one of the best in the chain. This is the third year in a row that we have gone to RCSH for Valentines Day dinner and have thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The atmosphere including a wandering quartet and pianist playing dinner music to the meal and service is top notch. Our server was Brigitta and she is both professional and personable. The manager stopped by to check on us as he did to many tables which is a great way for them to check on any problems ahead of time. No complaints from us and we will be back.

Took my long-time friend for Valentine's Day. We have never tried 1870. I made a reservation a month in advance because it was Valentine's Day. We were seated on the second floor, the Jewett Room. They only have four tables in the room so compared to the bar area, it was quiet. We had a table for 4, so for the 2 of us we had plenty of room. My date started with a cocktail, "The Mother of all President's", which was fabulous. The service was terrific, special shout out to our waiter Jacob. The meal was perfectly prepared. We both had the 6 oz filet mignon and it was so flavorful and tender. We shared the sauteed spinach and au gratin potatoes. For dessert, we split the dark chocolate tart, which went well with our bottle of Caymas Cabernet. I highly recommend for a special occasion. We heard they have a great happy hour, so we will definitely return and check it out.

My husband and l went for dinner on Valentine’s Day. We enjoyed the delicious salad bar, shrimp pasta and wonderful cheeses. The different meats served table side was so tender and flavorful. We throughly enjoyed ourselves. It was a great experience. Jacob was an excellent waiter.

Excellent experience, the entire staff was friendly and professional. Food was as good as would be expected at a restaurant on this level. Great job by the bartender, best Old Fashion I've had, and there have been many. The Filet Mignon was absolutely perfect. I had the special, stuffed Rockfish and it was great. There is a lot of great competition in this arena and we're looking for the best of Richmond. These guys are on the short list.
