Our server, Danielle, was nothing short of fabulous. Very attentive, knew the entire menu and specials thoroughly. I am gluten free and she knew exactly how everything was prepared so she was very helpful in going over the menu with me. Although I did not get it, they have gluten free pasta! Almost the whole menu is gluten free or can be prepared gluten free. The food was excellent, not one bad bite. Bone in ribeye was perfectly marbled and cooked at exactly medium as we requested. Oysters as fresh as could be. The Tartare Trio and Slab Bacon are to die for! If you are looking for a special celebration or even a swanky night out, I highly recommend. Looking forward to returning!

Our first experience, and we wonder why it took us so long? They are the complete package, amazing Tomahawk Steak, sides, everything. They even have Eric LeGrand Bourbon. Had to taste it. Lots of Rutgers memorabilia. Paul was our server. We have never experienced such a complete server. His explanations were epic, clear and concise. He graciousness was off the charts. you MUST request him!

Food was OUTSTANDING, service was outstanding, my only criticism would be that it was overly crowded (possibly due to the fact that the food is so good) and the noise level is high (the landlord should put sound dampening panels in the roof area). But all in all it was an excellent experience and I look forward to going back there again soon.

We have eaten at Char in Red Bank several times and we are always very pleased. Food is delicious and cocktails are perfectly made. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a steakhouse with ambiance and a nice bar area.

Eat at this restaurant regularly and I’ve never had a bad experience or meal. Last night being two days before Christmas it was very busy so noise level was high. Had a great meal , sea bass and short rib bolognese. Highly recommended. Service was excellent.
