Inspired by yakitori izakayas, Big Night is going to be putting seasonal British-ish produce on sticks and cooking it on our charcoal grill. The food will be simple, loud and fun, perfect to be eaten with a beer in hand and friends at your side.The menu will draw on a variety of influences rather than pretending to adhere to the concept of an authentic cuisine (this is not a Japanese restaurant). With respect to traditions, we will be cooking with integrity and creativity with ingredients and flavours that we love and are passionate about, in a way that is innovative rather than traditional, and most importantly, tasty tasty delicious. We’re talking lamb hearts, smoked beetroots, pickled mussels, seasonal kimchis, miso banoffee.We want everyone to feel at home here, a place for people to come together, the tables will be communal, you'll be asking your neighbour to pass the chilli oil and cheersing the whole table with a round of shots and sauerkraut.     Sticks n Sushi in Canary Wharf is a delightful dining spot that impresses with its excellent fare and attentive service. The menu offers a variety of delectable sushi and skewers, each dish presenting vibrant flavors that are sure to please even the most discerning palate. The staff is friendly and accommodating, enhancing the overall dining experience with their attentive service. However, while the quality of both the food and service justifies it to some extent, the prices are on the steeper side. Overall, it's a fantastic place for a special meal, though you might want to be mindful of the budget.

    Wow. A succession of 'nikkei' tastes and flavours completely new to us. Beautifully presented, vibrant and piquant food, fully explained by the enthusiastic and engaging staff. Pleasant room with lively, unobtrusive background music (the positive review by Grace Dent referred to the room being 'bare' - that must have been some while ago). We both opted for the £48 tasting menu, which brings our only comment: all dishes were served on single plates for two of us to share, which suggests portions for a single person having the tasting menu would be small. The dessert in particular - we'd reasonably expected a portion each, not half of one. That didn't detract from our enjoyment overall, though, and we'll definitely be back.
