This ancient listed building pre-dates the Great Fire of 1666 and is the oldest wine house in the City. Its origins were as a Merchants house and it is believed that smugglers used the old tunnel to the river from the cellars. Step inside and you will get a sense of our long established history combined with a continually evolving offer of well sourced wines shipped from around the world and small plates menu.

Set over two floors, it comprises a ground floor bar with further lounge seating and a private dining room for up to 20 people on the lower floor. The interior of El Vino Masons Avenue has a more contemporary feel to the existing three sites.

Great food that came quickly but some of our drinks were forgotten and we had to ask for the dessert menu and bill rather than it being offered.

Easy going and informal. Not too busy for City lunches which is appealing. Mgmt/Bar Staff very friendly and relaxed. Food menu not extensive but decent pub grub type food.
