Olivine wine bar is nestled inside of the 170-year-old heritage-listed bluestone walls of the former HM Pentridge Prison. You will meet your host to guide you through this unconventional space, until you find yourself in velvet-clad, faintly lit booths. Hidden away, the only distraction here is our novel-like book of wine, your key to our walk in cellar.Olivine is a place for all from the most passionate to those just beginning their journey of wine. Maggie's Snacks and Liquor is a neighbourhood bar and restaurant helmed by old friends Kaidee Grzankowski, Scott Blomfield and Jessica Spooner. Maggie’s beverage and food offering centres on a seasonal menu, showcasing some of the best kiwi booze and food New Zealand has to offer. Everything was fantastic. However liquid smoke was used on the onion relish on the burger and it was wayyy too overpowering. It hid the flavour of the burger meat. Being wagu it needed more subtle flavourings.

The food and cocktails were standout, there wasn’t a dish we didn’t enjoy (and we tried 3/4 of the menu!). The kingfish and chicken pâté were our favourites, and the oysters were really fresh and zingy. The service was efficient and friendly, and our food came out quickly. We agreed that next time we would choose a table in the bar over the main seating areas, as the converted ‘cells’ don’t get a lot of natural light. However, if you’re looking for something cozy and intimate these rooms certainly fit the brief!

We had a birthday party of 12 and the food was absolutely astounding. Pinotta staff catered for everything with such pleasant care for us. Highly recommend this restaurant for any occasion. Thank you.

I've eaten this entire menu twice through and everything is yummy. Recently had my birthday dinner there and everyone had a great time commenting on the homey vibe and interesting pizza selection. The staff are also very friendly and accommodating
