Chef Emeril Lagasse's take on the grand American steakhouse. Delmonico Steakhouse takes its name from the legendary, century-old New Orleans institution, Delmonico Restaurant and Bar. Delmonico Steakhouse is elegant and luxurious both in cuisine and atmosphere while offering a comfortable, approachable ambiance that is as breathtaking as it is inviting. With one of the top meat selections globally, Delmonico Steakhouse focuses on in-house dry aging Creekstone Farm meat selections. Inspired by Chef Emeril’s New Orleans culinary roots, the emphasis on Creole cooking builds upon French techniques with an infusion of robust flavors that elevate the traditional steakhouse experience using the freshest and finest ingredients.     The food at Delmonico's was spectacular. However, I have eaten at many upscale steakhouses across the country and the service is generally top notch with wait staff anticipating needs and appearing at appropriate times through the meal. This level of service was not exhibited during the dinner for six at Delmonico's on February 17th. The attention level received during the course of the dinner was minimal with significant wait times between when a wait staff member should have appeared and when they did actually appear. Also, the ambiance of the restaurant is nothing special, it is tables in a rather large room that has kind of a church basement feeling. In contrast, the same group of people plus a couple more had dinner at Capital Grille in Las Vegas the next night and the service was superb and the ambiance of Capital Grille is so superior with windows overlooking the Las Vegas Strip.

    My wife and I had lunch at Delmonico today. This is our first time for lunch and it was great. We split the tomato salad, had a smash burger and the small filet - all were very good and perfect portions. The star of the show, however, was the steak fries - perfectly cooked and delicious. We could not stop eating them. While Delmonico is known for the big steak dinner, it’s a great place for a nice lunch as well.
