Mangia Bene in Islington brings the food and culture of Italy to the bustle of Chapel Market in London. The traditional food can be enjoyed from the rustic interior or from the al fresco seating. Welcome to BEHIND. We are an intimate 1 Michelin star fish-focused tasting menu restaurant run by chef Andy Beynon. Situated on the edge of London Fields, Hackney, BEHIND has 18 kitchen-table seats for lunch and dinner sittings, as well as a relaxed wine bar. BEHIND is Andy Beynon’s first restaurant, opened in October 2020. After just 20 days’ trading it was awarded its first Michelin Star. Andy spent 15 years working in some of the best Michelin star restaurants in the country, including with chefs Claude Bosi, Phil Howard and Michael Wignall.

56 West Smithfield was founded by a family of winemakers, with a passion for creating unique, hand-crafted wines. Our family vineyard, Château De La Cômbe, is a small, boutique vineyard in Provence. Determined to make exceptional reds and whites in a region renowned for its rosés, we spent years lovingly restoring the chateau and estate, rebuilding the winemaking cave with state-of-the-art equipment and re-planting and tending to the vines. It wasn’t long before our organic wines began winning international awards – a testament to quality winemaking in Provence.
Eager to share our wines with the world, we partnered with like-minded, family-owned and boutique wineries to bring our rare and wonderful wines to you at 56 West Smithfield, without costly intermediaries.

Named after Franck Raymond’s grandmother, Augustine Kitchen showcases truly authentic French dishes, with a focus on produce from the Evian region where Franck was born.Augustine Kitchen is a 45 cover restaurant and has got an intimate family feel with a focus on good quality produce and wine. The producers are handpicked, to ensure the very best quality, including charcuterie from Monsieur Colliard and fish from Mouchet Anythy sur Leman, a fourth generation fisherman.
Regional dishes feature Reblochon tarte, gratin of crozets and delicate smoked fera, whilst other highlights range from the sublime snails served with garlic mousse and parsley butter to pike quenelle or pork shank which has been slow cooked for 36 hours.
Behind the bar, the handpicked selection of wines are displayed in open racks, in a typical French charm, along with a fine selection of Armagnacs, Cognacs and other well known spirits.

"THE STORY Our story began in 2018 when lifelong friends and business partners Daniele and Eduardo spotted an opportunity to bring ‘la bella vita’ to busy Londoners. Using Daniele’s Italian Nonna and her traditional recipes as inspiration we embarked on a mission to bring the best fresh pasta dishes in London town! Our pasta is freshly made daily with zero zero flour from Italy and it is combined with egg, water, and salt. Our sauces are made in-house with Nonna’s love using the freshest ingredients sourced from Italy and our UK homeland.
