まさしく老舗かつ名店です。 4度目のロンドン訪問にして初めての入店。ランチを予約して一人で伺いました。 8月中旬でしたが皆様の口コミを参考にさせていただき、ジャケットを着用しネクタイを締めて訪問しました。正解でした。入口をはいり挨拶を済ますと、自分のテーブルへと案内してもらいました。奥角の店内が見渡せる私の好みの席です。ボトルの水と食前酒にシェリーを頼んでから、メニューを選び始めました。ウェイトレス嬢に相談に乗っていただき、前菜はスティルトンチーズのスフレ・メインは舌平目にしました。共に上品な味付けで非常に美味です。ワインは、ソムリエ氏の勧める今月のグラスワインの赤＆白を一杯づついただきました。ワゴンサービスのチーズを数種類と食後酒としてポートワインを勧めていただき、堪能しました。化粧室も綺麗でしたよ。会計は、約140ポンドほどだったと思います。勿論、代金以上の価値があります。私は食べ歩きが好きで、世界的に著名なレストランに伺うことがありますが、こちらは空気感・ホスピタリティ・料理の全てが素晴らしく、世界最高峰のレストランのひとつだと思います。まさしく老舗かつ名店でした。ありがとうございました。

このお店はその日にとれたフレッシュなお魚が大変おいしいです。それを説明してくれるシェフもとてもフレンドリーで感じよく、出される食事に安心感を与えてくれました。ちょっとお値段が高いかと思いますが、ロンドンでこのお刺身のクオリティであれば、まぁ仕方がないと思いました。　唯一残念なのは１ウエイター。corkage feeを出すのでワインを持ち込んで良いかという私のリクエストが非常識だったのか、ウエイトレスが「４０から６０パウンドでものにより値段が変わってきます」　と言われたので、ワインのクオリティによって値段が違うのかと思い、私が持ってきたいワインの説明をしました。それに対する（ウエイターの返答が）大変失礼でarrogantな態度で驚きました。何か知らずに失礼なことを私がしたのか、その説明自体が失礼だったのか分かりませんが、お客様にどうしてあんな「高圧的な」態度に出れるのか不思議でした。ロンドンでcorgkage feeを聞いてこんな答えが返っってきたのは初めてです。以前一流のレストランで勤めていたということなので、それによるプライドかなんか分かりませんが、せっかくの食事に水を差し本当に残念でした。お魚は食べたいけど、この人には絶対会いたくないなぁと思うと　カウンターに座れば解決するのでしょうか？？
