They were so great about accommodating our large group ( volleyball team and parents) and even adjusted times for us once we realized our play schedule would conflict with our original reservation. Great staff and very patient with us! Would go there again!!!

I recently dined at Grunauer and had a wonderful experience. The ambiance was warm and inviting, with a cozy yet sophisticated atmosphere. I started with the lobster bisque, which was rich, creamy, and full of deep seafood flavors. It had a smooth texture with just the right balance of seasoning. Next, I tried the sweet potato soup, which was a pleasant surprise—velvety, slightly sweet, and well-spiced, making it a comforting and flavorful choice. For the main course, I had the salmon, which was perfectly cooked—moist on the inside with a beautifully crisp exterior. The seasoning complemented the natural flavor of the fish without overpowering it. The dish was well-plated and paired nicely with the sides. Overall, the service was excellent, with attentive and friendly staff. Grunauer truly delivers on quality and flavor, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a refined yet hearty dining experience in Kansas City. I’ll definitely be returning!

My husband wanted somewhere new, usually we stay north of the river, but I grew up south so JJs is familiar to me. It didn’t disappoint. First, our server was amazing. He was top notch. He said he hadn’t been there long and to please excuse him as he was still new, you couldn’t tell 10/10 on his service. The crab cakes were phenomenal. We both had surf and turf. The steaks were tender and cooked perfectly. The lobster was seasoned and tender. Overall, we will be back in the future.

The food was delicious as always. This has become our “go to” restaurant when we want to have a great meal with excellent service.

What a great find in the heart of Westport in KC. Food and drinks were awesome, incredible service. We went for brunch, can’t wait to return for dinner and the speakeasy.
