In 1979, after over 20 years of experience in the restaurant industry, Joe Impastato opened Impastato’s in Metaire. Only 5 years before, his brother Sal opened Sal and Judy’s in Lacombe. Now the family of restaurants extends to Madisonville with the opening of Impastato Cellars on September 5, 2013. The Impastato family decided to bring the same traditional, authentic Italian cuisine to the table on the Northshore along with the old world ambiance of a 600 square foot wine cellar featuring over 400 labels, in addition to a wide variety of spirits and craft beers.

Tavi is an Israeli restaurant serving made-to-order pita from a wood-fired oven, elaborately finished hummus plates, and small and large plates drawing from the same modern Israeli inspiration as its sister restaurant, Shaya. The name Tavi is inspired by the Hebrew word meaning “good or beloved” and that’s what Tavi aims to deliver to the Covington community. The shop offers more than 260 choices of teas and serves fresh-baked scones with house-made clotted cream and house-made lemon curd along with all-day high tea [finger sandwiches, savories & chocolate covered strawberries] and many other English food items such as banger & mash, Coronation Chicken Salad, Scotch eggs, quiches, Shepherd's Pie, etc.We are located on the corner of Rutland St. and N. Florida St. is just a block from the antique stores on Lee Lane and one block from the art galleries on Columbia. Off-street parking is available, wheelchair Lift and ample free parking on Florida St. and Rutland St and nearby Free Public Parking [Ox lot].

    I went tonight with my gf and another couple. I have been wanting to try Valencia for a while. I have traveled all over Spain and love the food. I (and all at my table) were very pleased with all 5 dishes (we shared 4 tapas plates and the house paella for 2 and it was plenty; we also shared a flan dessert). We all agreed we want to go back soon. Service by Emily was perfect. I ordered one dish at a time and we spent 2.5 hours there. It's a beautiful space. They did a fabulous renovation and the enclosed the space that was formerly a covered deck with visqueen curtains. It was impressive in all aspects. I will say the wine list was limited but the Cabernet I ordered complimented the food.

    Fun spot with great upscale pizza and mediterranean food. Service was welcoming and professional. Well priced wine selection. Specials on Wednesday and Thursday. Chexk it out. Enjoyed my first visit.

    As an early Valentine’s Day dinner with our mom, my husband and I enjoyed every moment of our dining experience. Both food and service were excellent. Every accommodation was met with grace and the blueberry/banana cheesecake to end the evening was amazing. Will be back!
