Located in downtown Columbia, SC, inside the historic 1902 Union Station, California Dreaming welcomes guests with its vibrant and inviting atmosphere. The restaurant's floor-to-ceiling windows offer a picturesque view of the rail tracks, stretching from the inactive platform to the main terminal. Paired with our hearty, made-from-scratch menu, it's no wonder California Dreaming has been a beloved local institution since 1984. Open for lunch and dinner daily, including online ordering with curbside pickup.Celebrating 40 years, California Dreaming has been a valued part of the Columbia community. Union Station, its historic home, was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1973.**We provide Advance Priority Seating to reduce wait times and expedite the seating process when your entire party arrives. To ensure the best experience for all guests, we seat groups of up to 8.     This was my second time going and I had a blast. The food is great, the servers are awesome and always there to help in any way. Overall it’s a great experience, my second time was bringing my whole family with me and they had a great time. We will be coming again

    Everything was great!! Food was really good, it was our 1st experience with Thai food and it did not disappoint! The food came out quickly, server and host were friendly. Can’t wait to return when visit Columbia again.

    Valentine's Day Early dinner. Greeted Quickly and Happily at door. Seated promptly and wait staff was there in a flash!!! Ample time and consideration given to us to choose drinks, appetizers and entrées. Food brought to table as desires. Wait staff was AWESOME!!! Valentine's Day drink menu was very nice I had the Blush and Bubbles and the Campfire Kiss, while my husband had a Savannah River Belgian beer. We had the calamari and the Szechuan green beans for appetizers. I had the General Bob's Chicken and my husband had the Coconut Curry with Tofu. For dessert we shared a the Yuzu Peach Cobbler!!! An AWESOME Way to Celebrate Love!!!

    The food and service was excellent. Margaritas were very good. Only comment is I wish you had a higher end margarita with better tequila and floater. Otherwise fantastic.

    The entire evening was nothing less than superb! We actually arrived 15 minutes past our initial reservation and still got seated within minutes! The food was delicious and the staff were impeccable! One of our friends had never been to a California Dreaming before and he was very impressed by everything! Thank you so much! The pork chops, the blackened chicken pasta and the Caeser salad with chicken were just some of the dishes that were ordered and we all loved our dinners!
