Delmonico’s Italian Steakhouse affords Utica diners that want a real challenge the opportunity to give a 24-ounce certified Angus Delmonico steak an attempt. The 16-ounce center cut New York sirloin is nothing to sneeze at either. Not just large, the steaks are full of flavor with perfect seasoning and seared to perfection. The menu at Delmonico’s Italian Steakhouse doesn’t end there, however. Chicken is also well represented at Delmonico’s Italian Steakhouse with dishes such as chicken Sinatra, chicken prosciutto, chicken marsala and chicken riggies. We opened on Valentine’s Day in 1953 in downtown Clinton, NY, and we’ve been sharing our love of good food and drink as a community gathering place ever since. John and Laura Alteri opened the doors and managed the restaurant until John’s death in 1960. We rebuilt after a fire in 1963, and the tradition was carried on by John’s son and daughter-in-law, Fernando “Feet” and Beverly, until 1998. Today, third-generation owner Fran Alteri manages his family’s warm, home-styled restaurant and seasoned bar, bringing people together with classic food, beer, wine and spirits. Share a table with your friends or family for casual dining and try our famous pizza, pasta, sandwiches, soup and more, or just find a stool at the bar and we can chat over one of our many craft beers.

    Our party of 3 had dinner on a Saturday night recently. It was a wonderful experience. We enjoyed the charcuterie plate and scallops with butternut squash to start. One on our party had the filet mignon special, one had the cauliflower steak, and one had the duck confit from the prix fixe menu. Everything was excellent. We finished the meal with the coffee cake and pot de creme. It was one of the best meals we’ve ever had and it’s amazing this place is in my old hometown I rarely get to visit! I loved that there was a prix fixe menu we could order items from. Wonderful place, wonderful service, great space. Can’t wait to come back the next time I’m in Utica.

    Went with a group of 9. Some things were cold (mashed potatoes, appetizer meatballs)… but everything was very tasty. Our waiter seemed a little rushed/busy, but still provided excellent service. We appreciated the small, private room for our larger group.

    This is a beautiful restaurant in an historical Utica hotel. The food is outstanding with top notch service. Our waitress, Jackie, was very attentive and friendly. I would highly recommend this place!
