In 1688, Joseph Haviland built a tidewater gristmill that provided the locally-grown grains to a nearby bakery that supplied farmers and tradesmen with bread. It was the first public oven in New York State. Haviland’s Old Grist Mill and the public bakery were community gathering places for two centuries. Inspired by Joseph Haviland’s noble efforts, the Haviland Kitchen & Bar has been established for our neighbors. The food and service was fantastic! Love that Alessandro comes out and welcomes you to his restaurant. You want to feel like a guest in someone’s home when you go out to eat, and you definitely get that experience here. This was my second time here and the first time for my wife. She loved everything! Will be going back soon!

We had a wonderful experience at the union! The service was incredible and they catered to all of our needs and went above and beyond for our group. The food was exceptional and we loved the decor and ambiance of the restaurant itself. It a true hidden gem within Eisenhower Park! We will definitely be returning soon!

Took a friend here tonight for her birthday. Her first time at Park Place. Loved it! She can’t wait to return. She had the veal shank. Delicious! I had the grilled oysters and the Shrimp Michelle over vegetable risotto. Ate everything! We’ll definitely be back.
