Next to the 'Old Mill' in Aruba you'll find a unique new restaurant, 'The Journey'. Michelin star trained chef Patrick van der Donk (Amuse Sunset restaurant) has made a very intimate chef's table concept. Credit card information will be required in order to hold reservation as well confirmation by phone.Not your usual bar seating set-up! Here you are able to dine at you own separate tables and still have a view of the chef creating your 5 1/2 course meal for a max of 20 guests per evening. Price $130 per dinner and $80 for the optional wine paring, small bar available.The evening starts at our cozy lounge with delicious hors d'oeuvres and bubbles, inside at a small and stylish set-up the chef will prepare every dish in front of his guests taking time to invite his guests over for a chat, he might even ask to help plating his dishes which gives a truly extraordinary dining experience. The menu changes frequently, classic dishes with a twist prepared with the best ingredients.

    Everything was wonderful. The grouper ceviche and French onion soup were great. The grouper and shrimp dish also great. Apple strudel- again great. But good lord almighty, the wild boar shank was one of the best meals ever. There are two entrees I’ll always remember- an elk tenderloin on Muhu island in Estonia and this pork shank. AMAZING. Can’t say enough of the roasted beet risotto it came with either. Just do it, and thank me later.

    In short We celebrated our 46th Wedding Anniversary with a dinner at Hyatt. And it was great! The waiters were very Friendly and helpful including the communication was 5 stars worth. Will surely repeat Especially for the complimentary anniversary Cake!!! Please consider put this cake on the Menu as dessert? PLEAZE?? :-) Hope to come back when Ruinas del Mar is open again... See you then!!! Btw keep us posted on the reopening. Abrazos also to the Waiters Croes, the Waiter from Cali, Colombia and The waiter from the Philippines.     CAYA was absolutely amazing. The chef’s creations are incredibly unique and delightful. We started off with the virgin mule and forbidden tea mocktails - which were both FANTASTIC. Then we were given 2 rolls with a creamy dip as a complementary item to start. These were honestly my favorite and tasted AMAZING. This set us up for huge expectations for the rest of the meal and they were definitely met. HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Appetizers: Shrimp cocktail tacos AMAZING Tuna Tartar AMAZING Chicken Empanaditas AMAZING! Entree: Duck Breast WOWWWW these came with homemade raviolis in a better sauce and were browned to perfection. Braised Lamb Shank VERY TASTY. came with polenta, roasted veggies. A very rich dish but simply wonderful.

    On vacation in Aruba, and heard about this place through OpenTable so I thought I would try it and the wife loved it, the service was great. The views were great and the food was great. That means my overall rating is great.!! Our waiters name is John and he did a wonderful job took care of all of our needs. I recommend this place if you’re on vacation or if you live here in town.
