Enjoy an intimate dining experience at Bar Isabel - a cozy restaurant nestled between Toronto's little Italy and little Portugal, where creative Spanish-inspired small plate dishes are served alongside cocktails and an extensive Iberian focused wine list. The restaurant's elegant interior boasts an intriguing blend of soft lighting, curved walls and a beautiful mosaic tile floor. Managed under the guidance of Maitre d' and Partner Alessandro Pietropaolo, Bar Isabel's menu includes a diverse mix of pintxos, conservas, seafood and meat dishes. Diners rave about the grilled octopus, the bone marrow and the ceviche. For dessert, the Basque cake and sherry cream is a must-try. General Public is inspired by trying to imagine what an upscale English pub would be if it had the heart of an American brasserie (and was open 11 to 11). It’s also going to signal a little bit of steakhouse, but not too much. And finally, it will look behind itself at the Black Hoof, which you will see reflected in James Santon’s menu here and there. In terms of vibe, the main floor is ‘everything’s gone green’, with lush comfortable banquette seating, warm wood, and barstools designed for long conversations over many cocktails. Upstairs you’ll find a completely different space that transports you to a peachy 80s dream. Somehow these two halves make perfect sense, and complement each other in a seamless conversation, where neither wins the argument, but you really do have to see it! See you soon!

Opened in 2017. Michelin-recommended since 2022.We first imagined Aloette to be the perfect diner that we’d want to dine in – a menu with a great cheeseburger paired with a fantastic and fun wine list, a long row of bar stools facing the bar and the kitchen, and an energetic atmosphere accented with an old school hip hop playlist. The buzz of the dining room mirrors the energy of the street on Spadina Avenue; the dining room itself mimics a train’s dining car. It’s a bistro-meets-diner-meets-internationally-inspired menu which is also representative of the diverse culture in Toronto. Our service team is upbeat and genuine but also deeply knowledgeable about the menu and offerings. Brunch at Aloette was something we said we’d never do. But the city kept asking and we’re glad to be a new staple in the Queen West neighbourhood for mimosas, chicken and waffles, and piping hot coffees.     We absolutely LOVED our experience at Giulietta. My fiancé and I went for my birthday and sat at the bar. Everything was beautiful and TJ the bartender was super knowledgeable and so fun! He helped us with cocktail & wine choices and let us know all of his favourite things on the menu. He also went above and beyond when I was floored by the olive oil - he got the bottle from the kitchen so I could take a picture and find it for home! We had the burrata & fired artichoke to start (do not miss the burrata!!), the lobster risotto (one of the best I’ve had) the chestnut ravioli and Giulietta pizza - all fab! Finished off with the Torta Della Nonna. We’ll be back!

    Innovative food with impeccable service. Definitively a destination to come back over and over. The steaks are yummy and perfect for sharing. We had the ribeye which was juicy and perfectly done. The mushroom blintz is unique and a wonderful compliment. The fluke and fennel is also a bit familiar while also different. We wanted to try everything on the menu. The cocktails are all complimentary and a star on their own. We'll be back.

    Great experience from the get. Sat at the bar and served by the bartender, Joe. Very personable and navigated me through the menu very well. It was quiet in the restaurant when I got there and half way through the place was packed. The pork secreto was perfect along with the shishitos. Finished the night with the basque cake which is a must. I have been following this restaurant on Instagram since 2013, it’s my first time to Toronto so I had to stop. Cannot wait to get back here!

    It’s always a treat to eat at Levant. The hummus is so creamy and delicious. The side arugula salad was a lovely surprise. I was expecting a simple bowl of arugula in a light vinaigrette, but it came topped with goat cheese, grilled cauliflower and pita chips with a tasty dressing. Fantastic! But it’s the (not pizza) that keep us coming back! We love all the flavors, and always order extra for reheating at home the next day.
