Restauranteur Shawn Virene put the POP into Houston with his wildly successful a’Bouzy. This champagne-fueled spot located in the tony River Oaks neighborhood of town attracts a stylish crowd all day. The bar is always bustling and the patio echoes with the cry – “a Bouzy!” every time a bottle is sabered tableside. In fact, most tables will have multiple wine buckets close by, keeping the bubbly cool. The fresh, ripe American menu features seasonal seafood, salads, small-shareable plates, large raw bar and prime meats. The wine list curated by Virene, is both the best-priced on bubbly and wines in the city. Fiori is a charming and cosy Italian restaurant and floral boutique in the heart of Montrose, led by chef Alessio from Rome. The restaurant is located in a cute two-story building, has a nice patio with lights hanging on the outside and a terrace; massive oak trees surround the building creating an unique atmosphere. The beautifully interior, decorated with fresh flowers, plants and paintings, offers a lovely and light ambience. Fiori focuses on using authentic traditional recipes.     We really dug the vibe. The interior is really stylish. The only thing we thought that was lacking was our particular server’s service. When I requested a second cocktail and asked him to surprise me with something vodka based, he brought a “French 76”, made with vodka instead of gin. Notwithstanding whether or not such a drink exists vis a vis the known “French 75” drink, he should have known that I had JUST finished a French 75, in part because I had the same gin style glass on my table. This is not service I would expect from a Michelin level restaurant (I know this one did not get one, but maybe you are gunning for it), many of which me and my wife have been too, including multiple Three Star restaurants! The waiter should be more aware as being delivered such a drink might be thought of as being lazy or dismissive towards the diner. My wife and I are well prepared to pay large amounts for a top notch dinner as well, and we are more likely to do so when a restaurant succeeds in ALL categories.

    I'm so happy to have found Ruggles Black. I am gluten and dairy free and there are so many delicious options. Regular eaters who have eaten there with me love the food as well. The atmosphere is very fun. Wait staff are fabulous. The owner came out to greet us and to make sure we were happy. I will go back often.

    Roost never disappoints. I love that the cauliflower is always on the menu and most of the dishes change every couple of months, always something new and fabulous to try. Happy hour prices are fantastic for wine, perfect location for before a show.
