A Family Tradition For Over 90 YearsMrs. Knott’s Chicken Dinner Restaurant first opened in 1934 with Mrs. Knott and her children serving the first customers in their tea room. The restaurant has grown over the years into one of the largest in California, but the classic fried chicken dinner is still made the same way today using Mrs. Knott's recipes. Every complete chicken dinner includes handmade biscuits, side salad, choice of cabbage or cherry rhubarb, three pieces of fried chicken, and mashed potatoes smothered in gravy. For dessert: your choice of boysenberry pie or boysenberry sherbet. Many other dishes are also available including grilled chicken, salads, and a number of appetizers. A full-service bar, serving signature boysenberry-infused cocktails, is also available.Currently, we are following all government-issued regulations and seating is currently outside only. We accommodate large parties in out Banquet Room which can seat anywhere from 6 to 50 guests and is perfect for family celebrations. We have a 15 minute grace period on all reservations. We love everything about CaliChili. It's so easy to find a parking spot and once you enter the restaurant, it's like stepping into a different world. Wonderful ambiance, a unique menu and excellent food. The service is attentive without being intrusive. We started with a new item on the menu, Calamari and French Bean. It leans into more Southeast Asian flavors and was a perfect starter. It was a cold and drizzly night, so we ordered the Dum Biryani with lamb as our main course. The meat was falling off the bone. The rice, lamb and yogurt sauce all melded together perfectly. Thank you for another wonderful meal.

The Skyroom has made a triumphant comeback. The food is exquisitely prepared and beautifully presented. The location has sweeping views of the city. We had the Parker House rolls, duck liver parfait, steak tartar, duck and tableside bananas foster. Every dish was delicious. With two cocktails, the check was $200. Though tasty, I am not sure I would order the rolls again @ $2.50 a piece. This remains a special occasion, fine dining experience. Valet parking available for $8.

Sunday brunch did not disappoint. The server was engaging and not stingy with the mimosas. For a buffet brunch the food was great quality. The restaurant was clean and well taken care of.
