Uncle Bacala’s specializes in Italian-style seafood and other inventive dishes in its warm and cozy New Hyde Park eatery. For a tantalizing start to your meal, enjoy the mozzarella in carrozza cheese-stuffed fried country bread and the mashed potato and mozzarella croquettes, both served with marinara sauce. Some of Uncle Bacala’s house entrées include the breaded salmone in agrodolce served over eggplant in a honey garlic sauce, the beef filetto di manzo with mushrooms, roasted potatoes and spinach in gorgonzola-cognac sauce and the apricot-glazed grilled pork chop.
